How long will the course take to complete?
The course is designed by court standards to be approximately 5.5 hours long, but it all depends on how quickly you read. The course, quizzes and final exam are not timed. You will need to read each unit of course material and complete the quiz at the end of each unit. The course consists of 10 units. Some units are shorter than others. Each quiz consists of 6 multiple choice questions. In addition, you will need to complete a final exam with a passing score of 80%.
Am I required to take the entire course in one day?
Off My Record Traffic School.com allows you to spend as little or as much time as you would like in one sitting. The course will automatically track your progress, remembering your place. When you return to the course, it brings you right back to where you left off!
My Court requires that I have my identity verified before I take the final exam. How does it work?
Our traffic school offers two ID verification options:
An ONLINE identity verification solution called, IDology at no extra charge. IDology verifies your identity using information available on the internet such as public records. NOTE: If no information is found or if 2 of the 3 questions are NOT answered correctly, you will be directed to our other option.
Our other option is Notary ID verification. Notary form, final exam & instructions will be provided & can be printed from our website. A Notary Directory link is also provided. NOTE: The cost of the Notary is the student's responsibility.
How are Traffic School Completion Certificates processed?
Your Certificate of Completion will be sent directly to you OR electronically to the court.
To see which Certificates are sent directly to you or electronically to the court. Click on "Approved Courts." The courts marked with ** asterisks, indicate that the Certificates are sent directly to you. All others are sent electronically to the Courts.
If it's sent electronically to the court, the court will process the certificate. Once the certificate has been processed, the student will be notified via e-mail or cell phone text of the status.
If it's sent directly to you, you must sign and return it to the court, by your court-assigned due date. Certificates will be mailed via USPS Mail, at the latest, the next business day after you complete the course. If you are close to your due date, we offer Fed-ex, next day service for an additional fee of $30.00. NOTE: For Fed-ex, next business day service, you must complete the course by 2:00 PM (PST) Monday - Friday.
I received my ticket in a different area from where I live. Do I have to attend traffic school where I got the ticket?

I paid an extra fee to the court, in addition to the bail amount for my ticket. Didn't that cover the cost of the traffic school?
No. The Court charges you a bail amount for the ticket, plus an additional administrative fee for the privilege of attending traffic school. The traffic school you choose charges its own fee.
How do I know if I'm eligible to attend Traffic School?
The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) generally allows a driver to attend traffic school once every eighteen months. The eighteen-month period is counted from the date you received the ticket to the date you receive the second ticket, not from the date you went to traffic school.
I am very close to my due date. Can I still enroll in the course?
Yes, the court may grant you an extension. However, you will need to contact your court prior to the assigned due date. Many courts are willing to grant a ONE-TIME EXTENSION.
Do I have to pay ahead of time?
Off My Record Traffic School.com is free to take all the way through Unit 10. After you pass the quiz in unit 10, you will be required to pay before taking the final exam.
What is a citation number?
A Citation Number is a number the Court assigns to you and your violation. It may also be called a "Case Number" or a "Docket Number" and can usually be found on the top right corner of your court papers.
